Why Webinfinity is better than SAP, Microsoft and Salesforce

This is not a blog about my software is better than your software. It is about a better vision.

OK I know what your thinking. Here comes another small company thinking they know it all, haven’t done their competitive analysis, deluding themselves that they can compete with companies a gazillion times their size.

Bear with me…

Everyone is coming to the same conclusion - it’s time to “consumerize the enterprise”. Users need one standard UI that can seamlessly interact with existing apps, tools, content and communities.

Users need an experience that is far simpler and much more personal to their role and needs. Everything must work superbly on every device (and no one must need any training). So what’s happening?

SAP Fiori

Let’s take SAP first. Every second sound byte from the CEO is now based on the mantra ‘Run Simple’. Here is more on that vision, and a good analysis on what this might mean in reality.

SAP recently released Fiori, a new product which in their words “provides a role-based experience across all lines of business, tasks and devices.” and which enables users to “enjoy a user experience that is personalized, responsive and simple”. Sounds great.

Microsoft Delve

Microsoft seems to be back on track, particularly if you ask those who work there. The new vision positions the company as “the productivity and platform company for the mobile-first and cloud-first world”.

Microsoft recently announced the release of an exciting new Office 365 product called Delve. Here’s a good summary from Venture Beat.

Delve is very clever – automatically delivering content from multiple sources based on user interactions, connections, previous behavior and more. It’s great to use on any device - ticks a lot of boxes right?

Salesforce 1

Salesforce 1 started life as a pretty surface level effort to make a splash at Dreamforce ’13 and many were skeptical.

From now on it will start to become the banner under which Salesforce begins to attempt to simplify and consumerize its offering – here’s more on that.

Good news for everyone correct? Especially those confused by the myriad of Salesforce products and platforms (and how to bring them all together). And finally even a plan to improve the CRM usability!

So why is Webinfinity Better?

Spotted the problem in all the above? Put simply they are all in love with themselves.

  • Fiori is great if all you have is SAP.
  • Delve fantastic if you rely only on Microsoft products.
  • Salesforce 1 will rock your world if you build everything on their platform (and believe the hype!)

There are SO many great cloud apps, systems and platforms today. Take a look at thisinfographic from chiefmartec.com or perhaps this one from the wonderful Real Story Group if you don’t believe me.

In this era of cloud scale and agility is it really realistic to base your entire business on any one platform? Shouldn't it be less about the ‘system’ and more about ALL the content, the users and the business.

Webinfinity has a fundamentally different approach. We recognize reality in that your enterprise environment has heterogeneous applications. We are completely neutral to any existing content and apps but can interact with anything with everything. The fact that we deliver a fantastic UI, complete mobility, personalization and self service does not hurt either.

So if you run on a blend of Salesforce, Microsoft, Google, Zendesk, DropBox, Youtube, Jive, Jira and the home built HR system you launched in 1999 good for you. You can create or connect to Webinfinity from anywhere, delivering what’s most important to ALL your consumers in a way that’s completely unique to them. So win on brand awareness and marketing budgets we will not. But we might just have the vision and product for you.
